For the 2024/25 academic year we are offering visits delivering either or both exciting interactive workshops, based around our plays Hear Me Out! and Do I?.
Hear Me Out! video-based workshop (approx. 2 hours)
Our highly trained young presenters facilitate a dynamic workshop based around extended excerpts from the movie version of our play Hear Me Out!, concerning crisis pregnancy and life choices, which is available to preview by signing up to our resources page.
The workshop follows the stories of some of the main characters from the play, and features interactive activities and discussion based around the clips. Students will be captivated by these challenging, but genuine situations, and encouraged to consider and evaluate the surprising real-life outcomes. Topics of focus for activities and discussion include the following: 1/ Crisis pregnancy situations – what influences a decision to either keep the baby or have an abortion? What support / advice could be offered in such situations? 2 / Responding to the different perspectives on life and abortion which the different characters convey. 3 / What the science says about the development of the unborn baby 4 / Disability — equality and respect for all human beings, sanctity of human life 5 / How should the possibility of pregnancy / parenthood influence the choices we make regarding relationships? Through these activities students have an opportunity to examine and explore, in a dynamic way, the issues raised by the performance in more depth. Do I? We are pleased to announce our new Do I? movie/workshop package, which focusses on the theme of relationships.
The movie is a high quality production of our groundbreaking play Do I?, with a fantastic cast, filmed during our theatre run for schools in July 2023. It is now available for teacher preview on our resources page.
Our package involves an exclusive showing of the 1 x hour movie, followed by a dynamic 1 x hour workshop, led by our highly trained young presenters, which deals with the following topics: 1 / Consent and coercion 2 / The dangers of sexting / sextortion 3 / Ensuring online safety 4 / Healthy relationships 5 / Dealing with peer pressure 6 / Positive body image The movie combined with the workshop are designed to inspire and empower students in values of respect, responsibility, true love and healthy relationships.
